Trollius is a small genus of around 30 species in the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae, distributed around temperate regions in the northern hemisphere, the greatest number of species in Asia. They grow in moist soil in their native habitats, but can grow in any garden soils.
Division in spring or fall.
Seed - sown in September - November.
Seed lightly covered and stored at 20°C (68°F) for 2 weeks and then stored outside until germination. The seed needs temperatures below freezing, so refrigeration isn't enough.
Tall plant that generally doesn't need staking. Hardy and easy to grow. Hybrid globeflower is a group of hybrids between T. europaeus and other species such as T. chinensis and T. asiaticus. This unnamed variety has pale yellow flowers.
