Swertia is a genus in the gentian family, Gentianaceae. Most are alpine which often grow in wetlands and meadows so they grow best in moist soil.
Propagation:
Division in spring or fall.
Seed - sown in September - November.
Seed lightly covered and stored at 20°C (68°F) for 2 weeks and then moved outside until germination.
Is native to moist mountain meadows, often growing in lime-rich soil.
