These species are compatible in gardens as they thrive in moist, fertile soil and part shade.
Propagation:
Division in spring.
Seed - sown in September - November.
Seed has very short viability and should be stored refrigerated until it is sown.
Seed needs light to germinate so it should not be covered or only covered with a very thin layer of soil or sand. Stored at 20°C (68°F) for two weeks and then stored outside until germination.
Not drought tolerant during summer. Grows best in slightly acidic, fertile soil.
