Lilium is a large genus in the lily family, Liliaceae, native to temperate regions, the majority in Asia and N-America and a few in Europe. They are usually tall plants with large, colourful flowers in all colours apart from blue. A great number of garden cultivars are grown in gardens.

Seed - sown September - October
Seed sown in a well draining seed starting substrate about 5 mm (1/4 inch) deep. Stored at 20°C (68°F) for 9-12 weeks and the stored at temperatures below 4°C (40°F) for 3 months until bringing back to 20°C (68°F) for germination.
Needs a sunny place and fertile soil.
