Heucherella is a recently formed genus formed by crossing plants from two genera, Heuchera and Tiarella. Both genera belong to the Saxifragaceae family and are native to N-America. The hybrids combine the varied foliage colours of Heucheras and the heart shaped foliage and larger flowers of Tiarellas, but bear a stronger likeness to Heucheras.
