Gentiana is a large genus of around 400 species in the family Gentianaceae. It's distribution is alpine and temperate regions in Europe, Asia and America. The signature feature of the genus are exceptionally blue, trumpet shaped flowers.

Propagation:


Division in spring.


Seed - sown in September - January.

Seed just covered and stored at 20°C (68°F) for 2-4 weeks and then stored outside until germination. Germination can be slow and seed could germinate the following year. Seedlings should be transplanted in clumps rather than individually.

Hardy and easy to grow.
