Galium is a large genus in the family Rubiaceae, with over 600 species. Most are not sought after garden plants, but there are some exceptions. Four species are native to Iceland.
Division - spring, summer or fall.
Seed - best sown in September - November.
Seed just covered and kept at 20°C (68°F) for 2-4 weeks and then stored outside until germination. Optimum germination temperature is 5-12°C (40-55°F).
Good ground cover for shady places. Spreads by rhizomes, can become invasive.
