Delphinium is a large genus in the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae, with around 300 species. Most are tall perennials with a distribution in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, reaching south to mountainous areas in Africa. Garden cultivars are numerous and more widely grown in gardens than the species.
Division in spring.
Seed sown in March.
Seed just covered and kept at 22°C (72°F) until germination. After germination it should be kept at a lower temperature with plenty of light so the plants won't become lanky.
Variety grown from seed from Thompson & Morgan with pure white flowers with black bees. Needs good shelter and support. Belongs to the Pacific Giants hybrids group.
