Chelidonium is a genus with only one species belonging to the poppy family, Papaveraceae. It grows in meadows in Europe and W-Asia and as an introduced species in N-America.
Seed – needs cold stratification, best sown in autumn.
Seed just covered and stored for 6 weeks at 22°C (72°F) and then it‘s moved outside until germination. Germination can be slow, seed may germinate a year later, so it‘s important not to throw it away prematurely. Opimum germination temperature is 5-12°C (40-55°F).
Delicate, shade tolerant plant. Self seeds moderately.
