Caltha is a genus in the buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. They grow in moist soil along streams and ponds in cold temperate regions of both northern and southern hemispheres. One species (*) is native to Iceland.
Division in spring.
Seed - seed has limited viability and is best sown in September - October.
Seed just covered and stored outside until spring. Brought inside in February-March and kept at 18-22°C (64-72°F) until germination. After germination the seedlings need lower temperatures and plenty of light so they won't get lanky.
Marsh plant, native to Iceland.
