The genus Calceolaria belongs to the Calceolariaceae family. They are low growing plants with a basal rosette of leaves and pouch formed flowers. Most species are native to S-America.

Seed sown in March.

Seed just covered and kept at 20°C (68°F) until germination. After germination it should be kept at a lower temperature with plenty of light so the plants won't become lanky.

Beautiful alpine from the Andes Mountains with pouch shaped flowers. Needs well drained, but moist soil.
