Brunnera is a genus in the family,Boraginaceae  with only three species native to woodlands in E-Europe and NW-Asia. All are spring flowering, ground covering plants that grow best in shade.

Division in spring.


Seed - seed germinates slowly and at a low temperature, so is best sown in September - November.

Seed not covered and stored outside until germination. Germination can be slow, seed could germinate a year later so it's important not to throw out the seed trays too soon. 


Shade tolerant plant that grows best in fairly moist, humus rich soil.
