Most Asters flower late in the summer and through fall, but the species mainly grown in Iceland are alpines that flower earlier, in July-August.
Propagation:
Division in spring.
Seed sown in March.
Seed just covered and kept at 20°C (68°F) until germination. If there is no germination in 4 weeks, it could be helpful to place the seed tray in a refrigeraton for 2-4 weeks and then move it back to 20°C (68°F). After germination it should be kept at a lower temperature with plenty of light so the plants won't become lanky.
Tall plant that spreads fairly quickly with rhizomes. Needs support.
