The genus Arabis belongs to the family Brassicaceae. They are low growing alpines that grow in gritty soil. Most species are native to mountains in Europe and Asia.

Division in spring.


Basal cuttings in early summer.

A stalk without buds is torn off at the base and planted in soil mixed with pumice and kept in a sheltered spot out of strong sunlight until the cutting is rooted.

Hardy spring flowering plant, well suited to rock gardens. Flowers profusely in May.
