Ajuga is a genus in the family Lamiaceae.  Species grown in gardens in Iceland are native to Europe.

Propagation:


Division in spring.

A fairly fast spreading ground cover that forms a mat of glossy, burgundy foliage. It is shade tolerant, but flowers more in partial shade. Tolerates most soil types, but grow best in well drained, moist soil. A nice companion with Hostas and other shade tolerant plants.
