Orpine belongs to a group of plants that have been moved from the Sedum genus to the genus Hylotelephium. There seems to be some disagreement about this change, so I'm keeping it grouped with the Sedums for now. The subspecies fabaria has grayish green foliage and reddish purple flowers. It is around 20-30 cm tall. It is fairly hardy, but doesn't tolerate wet soil during the winter months and needs well drained soil. It's growing in partial shade in my yard and flowers every year, but it would probably prefer more sun.
