Spiny restharrow is a pretty plant that becomes covered in candy pink flowers in August - September. But it's not as sweet as it seems, the whole plant is covered in sharp thorns which makes it very difficult to handle and not nice to bump into. I had it for two years, but threw it away one fall, when I got fed up with it's prickly character. Looking at the photos I regret it a little bit. It was hardy, but flowered late, in late August - until first frost.
